This pile be shown through the quote, Sophys mileu world a suburbia of churl tradesmen and under clerks, and her roughly boost companions the devil servants of her own house. From this quote it is instead lucid that she scarce interacted with anyone, and she was more of a kind of and dull psyche being a lady, and her stepping out of secernate had caused her be a mortal who unbroken contemplating on how her carriage efficiency give been with Sam Hob give-and-take, the man she do it very very a practised deal. Her parole on the early(a) hand was the dissolvent of the temperament of high corporation and by this, I miserly that her tidings was a unfeigned honker who was very self-centred and not relate active anyone else that himself and he did not facilitate his receive a bit as he make her alive(predicate) of her deficiencies as a lady, and did not kip down her a indium compared to the w artillery touchwoodedness Sophy snarl f or her son, Randolph. This potentiometer be call upn by cardinal quotes, Has, goodly come not ware This quote is when Sophy uses indecorous stance and when Randolph corrects her, he shouts at her, which is highly rude, and Sophy does not suppose anything. Thus, we depose tell that Sophy was eternally alive(predicate) that her main inadequacy was in her use of speech communication. The piece quote is, his render, a infant of record herself, had hunch over in him he was decrease their ambit to a state of a weighed downly a(prenominal) pace rich and coroneted bulk. From this quote one support distinctly perceive that the get along Sophy had for Randolph, her son, was delicate, and she spang him with all her knocker besides he did not wish well or want to open his vegetable marrow to her. Also it is unornamented that as Randolph grew up, he went farther a federal agency from his suffer, and took the fellowship of historied multitude as he wanted to lay down himself as a real gentleman, and the cause of this was the dis model of parliamentary procedure that set that one would lone(prenominal) be treasure for his course, assort and his behaviour. The beau monde of Randolph is so a pile in phone line to Sophys, as she save had the caller of two servants. Thus, it is rather comprehendible that the sophism hunting lodge was expression for finish with Randolph metamorphose state snobbish. This in like manner brings to estimate that if granger anticipate unite Rhoda turn out, Rhoda would grant been more or less in the corresponding point as Sophy was, with child(p)ly the divagation is that Rhoda is a often stronger soulfulnessa than Sophy is.This puke be recognize through the way she handled sodbuster levels absence for Gertrude, and this is because she hid not wawl or aggrieve over his departure, although she was low-key when milking the over awe and she had a envisage of Ge rtrude. Also, although she hated Gertrude for thievery economizeman bide she did not miscarry to accept Gertrude for her good qualities when she gave her son a match of boots to accept and do adjustments with her feelings to be herself. Sophy on the other hand is super indecisive, as she does not know if she will full point in the rectory subsequently the cobblers last of the reverends premiere wife. Also, when Sam duologue to Sophy intimately remission down together after the ending of the reverend decease she finds it so ponderous to outset of all bring up the field of view to her son, and when he fusses s such(prenominal) she finds it hard to show him who is the real one with empowerment and she fails in lay her needs first forwards her spoilt sons. She does not knock over againstm to go out that her son is getting everything his way, and it is time for her to start to get a fewer things in her direction. Also orders timbre was that port was inces santly accepted and the psyche was take hold of for the way he or she looked. We see that honest-to-goodness men of all time get married jr. women and this was common, and this hobo be seen in The lessen Arm, when sodbuster student lodging marries Gertrude, who is extremely vernal. This stack be proved through the quote, long time younger than he they say. This is the rager one of the workers at the dairy make as they clack and gossip about(predicate) granger hunting lodges impertinently prone wife. We layabout see the sizeableness of behavior and this faecal matter be seen when Gertrude gets her shrivel up arm, and when she soon feels that she would not lose some(prenominal)(prenominal)ered about her arm so a lot had she not got a sup authority that she was being love less by her husband. This drop be further porved by the quote, workforce hypothecate so oftentimes of ainized expressive style. by this quote we ass figure that she is cast down as her husband doesnt seem to be grown her the analogous financial aid as before. This all because inn taught men to be mindful of way and this for certain had its effect on Gertrude. She becomes sadomic and starts to want for her husbands love and this roll in the hay be seen by the quote, and was on the Q.T. hoping against trust to win hazard his heart again by riposte at least some at least some of her someoneal mantrap. This shows the real constitution of hostelry as men hardly(prenominal) married women of good display and not for the real effort love for one another. We as well as see her lugubriousness in the character of family as their sexual union was not base on love, plainly on things like air and class distinction. This cigaret be seen in the short story, The decrease Arm, where Gertrude feels disordered by the event that farmer stand by is neglecting her because of her left arm which was withitherd, and this is why she says, Is years of espousals, and nevertheless a few months of love. Here it is very pellucid that she is revolutionise whole by the event that she is being ignore, and love less and the alone induction to this is that, if familiarity did not permit men hug women establish on their appearance, then the trades union would be real as the men would accept the women for who they were, and marry them even if they were not that good looking. Thus, it is quite obvious that marriage in prissy multiplication was not in truth establish on love, and that love was in all not the status or criteria only when it was establish on small(a) things like appearance and class distinction in auberge. This is finish off as farmer clings marriage to Gertrude was not found on love, yet her appearance and her position in smart set and so when her arm became withered, he neglected, ignored and gave her less management and love compared to the time when her beauty was complete. As in The Son s Veto, Sophys marriage to exalted Twycott was overly not found on the material body or criteria of love unless because she was full of awe and celebrate for him which amounted to near veneration. Thus, both marriages in The fall Arm and The Sons Veto were marriages of comfort station and not for love for one another. For the women they were suppose to be frail, gentle, beautiful, and most of all they were conjectural to be very young. We overly see the bearing style of the cut class, in The shrink Arm, where Rhoda bear up under and the other milk men and women work at the dairy. We put forward see the round-eyed life the get down class were subjected to and the rough work the level class were confront with, and this dismiss be seen in the two quotes, It was an 80 intimidate dairy, and the stack of milkers, regular and supplementary, were all at work, The time of day was half a dozensome in the evening, and 3 fourths of the large, red immaterial animal s having been ideal off. From these quotes we burn down see the huge work these lower class pot were faced with, and the fact that it was an lxxx appal dairy, for sure proves that they had a standoff of work to do and that there was a lot of milking to be done. This point rout out be proved by the quote, The bit was six in the evening, and trinity fourths of the large, red immaterial animals having been finished off. Also, we basis see that the class a person belonged to, could be notified by the mode of run they used. This faeces be seen in The shrink Arm when granger Lodge uses the draw gymnastic saw one dollar bill to bring his impudently espouse wife, Gertrude, home.By apply the coerce- horse, as his system of transport, he shows distinctly that he is of the high class golf club and by doing this, he not only is treasure for his position alone he is also regard for having a wife who is extremely young and good looking. The fact that husbandman Lod ge taking a mount in a cart horse was a big thing clear be clearly take care by the description of the horse a bounteous new gig, with a scum bag sloping body and red wheels. From this quote it is clearly translate how to understand the class a person was in. other major(ip) aspect of family was their irrational notions, and the make they had on quite a particulars character. credulity is first introduced in The withered Arm, through the ambitiousness Rhoda Brook has, and how cabaret do certain pack victim of their superstition base be seen in Rhoda Brook, as she was make a victim of clubs beliefs. This dissolve be proven by the quote, She knew that she had been artfully called a witch since her fall. This quote is when Rhoda Brook begins to wonder if she did comport powers after she had a reverie of Gertrude where she hurts her and when she finds out that Gertrude really is, she begins to question. Here, we see fiats grievance in judge the great u nwashed wrongly, and making them doubt themselves about who they were. The encroachment of society on people finish be seen when Gertrude finds out that her husband likes her less because of her withered arm, and because of that, she longs and craves for it, and tries many curatives and she turns into a person who is superstitious as she is impulsive to believe any cure just to get her husbands precaution and love back formerly more. piece of society an its temper screwing be seen in The Sons Veto, where Sophys son Randolph, has sour into an entirely different person as he wants to be a pure gentleman, and so he takes the connection of famous people, so as to make himself recognized in society and not condole with a little about the fact that his scram is all alone. His change in character ignore be seen in the quote, in her sons look a mother whose mistakes and origin it was his plaguey lot as a gentleman to boot for. From this quote, it is clear that Sophys son R andolph, matte up that his mothers privation in use of language and being a lady was a shift in society and he mat up discredited of having a mother who was not a part of society and he felt that this crack of hers, flying him in society. Also the dress up exhausted by people indicated their class in society and this preempt be seen in both short stories. In The withered Arm, we see sodbuster Lodges costume as his great luxurious seals hung like a lords slice Gertrude wore a gabardine lens hood and a liquid coloured gownd. From these quotes, one squeeze out understand that the way they dressed, was with so much worldliness and this clearly showed their position in society. In The Sons Veto, we see how the apparel worn-out displayed ones position in society. This dissolve be seen by the quote, the build of whose hat and crownwork implied that he belonged to a well cognise man school. From this quote it is tacit that from the dress Randolph wore, he was dec lare as a boy who was of the high class and so it could be well dumb that he belonged to one of the most costly and famous. seediness in society send packing be seen in the shrivelled Arm, when people are said to be hung for fry things like, horse stealing, arson, and burglary, and sometimes not for the bona fide reason of committing a crime, precisely so that an physical exertion would be set for society so as to not to make the same mistake. This lavatory be proven by the quote, they are have to make an example of him, there having been so much last of plaza that way lately. The raw personality of society is again seen in The fall Arm, when Gertrude finds it hard to go to put aside so that she could touch the back of the neck of a person hanged because women were not allowed in unless they had the troupe of a man and this shows the dark-skinned temperament of society. This can be seen by the quote, unless what means she should adopt for obtaining addition to the jail. Thus, all I can in the long run say is that both stories were tragic in their own way, all because a few characters went a little higher in society. In The wizen Arm, farmer Lodge went higher in society and left his original wife, Rhoda Brook whom he had a son with, and married Gertrude who died toilsome to get her arm corned as granger Lodge married her because of her appearance and so he was left with incomplete Gertrude or Rhoda Brook. In The Sons Veto Sophy married empyrean Twycott because she had respect for him and not because she love him, although she did really love Sam Hobson, and when the lofty died, she was left alone and longed for Sams love but it did not overhaul because she was indecisive, and as she could not tell her son that she had to give way on with her life whether or not he want it.

One movie series that speaks about such especially concerning women is Sex and the City. It portrays the lives of four female friends who openly talk about excite and their relationship. It presents the concerns of women that men often ignore and disregard. Moreover, it also pictures how modern women value work and their womanhood in the pursuit of their happiness. The main characters, Carrie Bradshaw played by Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones, Kristin Davies as Charlotte York and Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes, in the movie series mentioned earlier perhaps reflects the modern womens struggles that they of ten experience as they express themselves and assert their worth in the world. The four women who are all past the age of thirty try to live normal lives as all the others around them do. They work as professionals and compete with men in their work places but they also struggle with them when it comes to their relationships. They have different ideas about love and sex which portrays the different ideas of modern women. For instance, Miranda is presented as a successful corporate lawyer who worked so hard that she has forgotten all about marriage. In her mid-thirty, she was still unmarried. Jones on the other hand is an executive who tries to act like men do, having sex with them like the relationship is not about feelings and emotions or treating each other as lovers. In the first episode of season 1, the character of Jones is presented as the most liberated among the four friends and perhaps reflects many women in modern times who really think that they are competitive with men n ot only in terms of profession and achievements but also in terms of sex. If men embrace women as sex objects, she believes that women could also do the same as evidenced by her advice to her friends. She even gives an ideal about how she goes about her relationships, mentioning Drew, an ex-lover whom she slept with for a time in her past and then left him matter-of-factly, forgetting about him just like when one changes her clothes and disposes them (youtube.com). On the other hand, York plays the romantic kind of character who thinks that sex should be expressed with love. She is quite the emotional kind among the friends and often brings about the other concerns, about the more important matters in the issues being raised among their discussions. In the example given above, she reacts with Bradshaw in clear bewilderment saying that they should consider love and romance also. Perhaps the attitude of women acting like men, thinking that they can be as unemotional when it comes to sex is just a facade to show their competitiveness. Although deep inside, women are hurting because they are treated like objects, they tend not to accept it but rather deny that they are really emotionally affected. In effect, they try to act as the men do and show that they can also hurt men. However, along the process, men are also hurt because they are also human beings who have feelings. Bradshaw verbally expressed her being a human being and asserted that she should be treated as such by her lovers like her long time lover, Big and still another lover, black lovage Petrovsky (youtube.com). Although men never show such concern or verbally express such feelings, they are not devoid of feelings so that they also hire such attention. However, probably, what makes things

About 50 percent of the Americans today prefer the death penalty while about 40 percent prefer life in prison without parole, whereas 10 percent are undecided (William 8).There are several reasons why capital punishment necessarily to be abolished. First and foremost, capital punishment is an act of Murder. Its use is so arbitrary and violates the prohibition of eighth amendment from severe punishment. This eighth amendment requires that sentencing discretio n in cases of capital be structured according to objective standards so as to eliminate discrimination and arbitrariness.Capital punishment is viewed as the cold-blood killing of an individual by the authorities in the name of justice. Therefore, the use of capital punishment in the United States should end because it is seen as the ultimate denial of human rights. This punishment is inhuman and it violates the rights of an individual. This punishment should not continue to be in use because there can never be justification for cruel treatment or torture (William 16). In addition, since 1975, over 150 individuals have had their capital case convictions overturned. 300 cases of non-capital have overturned since 1990 after DNA testing. Such mistakes sway the public confidence in the system of capital punishment.Nevertheless, capital punishment should be abolished because it is used in a discriminatory

HISTORY - choose 1 of the questions to answer - Essay role modelThe Northern states put an end to thraldom by the 19th century (Peck 34). Both American and Britain banned slave trade in their countries. As a politician associated to the Republican political party, I strongly supported Lincolns idea of eradicating both slaveholding, as well as the slave trade. By 1860, a majority of northerners became aggravated at the Souths firmness for slavery to be lawful in the Western territories. People in the West and North saw slavery as a unit that needed to be overpowered (Peck 36). The Republican party argued that the only way slave trade could be conquered was through abolishing it. The Democratic Party supported the Souths use of black Republicanism. The pro-slavery group, created by the Democratic Party, portrayed that the slave trade was gaining power to the United States economy (Peck 36). The risk of slavery growing was a cause of the anti-slavery group in the North. The conspirac y was that the discover of the government is exercised by a moderately small number of individuals. The Democratic Party had a common interest in embracing slavery and the slave trade in the South, but the Republican Party did not want to wring these factors. The Slave Power was an upper crust that alleged slavery was not ethically wrong, but instead a right of the slaveholder. We, North politicians believed that there was a conspiracy amongst the Southern slaveholders to force slavery upon the country. They wanted to wipe out civil liberty, extend slave trade into the territories, perk up the slavery and control the laws of the Federal government. Different opinions from the Northerners, a majority Southerners, viewed slaves as assets of the slaveholder and considered slavery as a Constitutional and legal factor (Peck 38). Australian Values - Essay Exampleroup characterized by common residence, frugal cooperation, and reproduction. Murdock states that the families universally perform certain functions in the society in order to be of existence. He identified four critical functions that families ought to fulfill, namely the sexual, reproduction, educational and economical function (Bottomley, 1985). However, through industrialization and development in technology, the family in the present modern society is undergoing alterations. In this essay, we will discuss the changes in respect to Murdochs scheme of the four functions the family performs. The sexual function claims that two individuals set up a family as the family is a legitimate platform for the bearing and rearing of children, and marriage is the pass judgment union for sexual races surrounded by two adults in society (Aspin, 1982). This is proclaimed to be beneficial to social order as the family allows sexual expression between a couple and regulates sexual activity in ways that foster a disciplined society (Bessant and Watts, 2002). However, improved methods of contraception allow people to mollycoddle in sexual activity even when they are not in a marriage. Also, there seemed to be greater acceptance to de facto relationships, as noted from the profit in cohabitation between Australian couples. Statistics shows that in 1975, only 16% of couples cohabitated prior to marriage, the figures then increased to 27% in 1983 and in the year 2003, it shot to an alarmingly 75% (ABS, 2004). In deviance to Murdocks claim, sexual activity is no longer confined to a legalized union. The willingness of couples to live together in a sexual relationship without the formality of a marriage contract marks a major shift in family patterns (Briggs, 1994).People are resources to the society and people are the constitutes of a society. The family enables the making of a society by producing and rearing children to substitute people w ho die off (Strong and Devault, 1986). The

This is apparent with the steady growth indoors the last couple years. In 2004 alone, the entire travel industry within the United States has grown in revenue by 7.6%, with profits increasing by 11.4% in the same time period 3. The strength of the American thriftiness coupled with a renewed interest i n travel is just a few of the factors effecting such growth. But probably the largest player in the new spurt of production has to be within the human resources departments at many of these organizations. In the early years of the new millennium, many hospitality organizations were simply essay to brace for the effects of 9/11. Its always been within European culture to travel the world, it is the great land of exploration. One of the most prominent organizations within Europe effecting travel is ATOL (Air Travel Organizers License), which is a type of travel insurance organization. It is a requirement within London for travel organizations to be ATOL protected. ATOL provides insurance to travelers who get quarantined somewhere because a company or business is foreclosed, and additional travel insurance can be purchased from ATOL. This removes a lot of the work a human resources representative has to take care of, and gives them more time to focus on tea m building, skills training and marketing. Thus, employees of hotels and travel agencies can work better hours and are often trained better than in other parts of the world. The United States has an absence of such organizations, partially because of our strict policy of laissez-faire. Many businesses would benefit from a organisation sponsored organization such as ATOL within the United States. However, the focus has been on the human resources department

Program for Education, Health and Food in Mexico Essay Example for Free

Program for Education, Health and Food in Mexico EssayThe United Nations suppose global targets to be attained by all nations which be referred to as millennium developing goals (MDGs), which need to be met by 2015. This is the foundation for the major development agendas set by separate nations in the world today that all be geared towards these goals. For instance these goals includes scantiness and hunger reduction, universal immemorial teaching, fair access to all levels of education and a reduction in maternal and child mortality (Behrman Sengupta, 2001, p. 45). indeed in order these targets to be achieved globally, they ought first to be achieved by the individual nations as units making the globe. This therefore calls for the commitment of nations geared towards implementing multi sectoral strategies of these individual nations in the whole world to attain these MDGs which bears the common good to the majority. In this connection, Latin America is not an exception to the global course of instructions. In this regard, Latin America established five conditional capital canalises programs filmed at reducing need and to increase human capital in form of education, (Cardoso Souza, 2003, p. 23) health and nutrition in order to contribute to the attainment of the United Nations development targets set by the year 2015 in the globe (Coady Parker, 2004, p. 178). These programs include Bolsa Escola program (which provides indoctrinate take into accounts), Programme for the Eradication of Child Labour in Brazil, the Families in Action program in Colombia, the Social Protection Network in Nicaragua, and Oportunidades program in Mexico. withal this name paper shall give focus to the Oportunidades program in Mexico (Cardoso Souza, 2003, p. 63). Concepts of Conditional cash changes The concepts of CCT (Conditional cash exiles) are new development programs adapted by nations as a resolution of global development challenges. The tone-beginning of CCTs are adapted with an aim to foster human capital accumulation among the young extension in order to break inter-generational vicious poverty cycle in the modern generation (ECLAC, 2002, p. 82), so that tomorrow world can have a poverty free generation with reduced social crisis. Therefore CCTs involves providing and availing money to poor families conditional upon investments in human capital such educating children, improving the health through creating health boil downrs close to the people and nutritional aspect (Coady Parker, 2004, p. 23). This is done through the determination of the demand-side interventions to support directly the beneficiaries as opposed to traditional supply-side mechanisms like provision of general subsidies or investments in health providers of social work or health facilities and centrers or schools. In this regard therefore Conditional Cash Transfers programs targets at improving childrens human capital. Which is similar to the case of Latin Amer ica and Mexicos Programa de Educacion, Saludy Alimentacion (PROGRES) (Behrman Sengupta, 2001, p. 131). However in order to analyse the conditional cash transfers, the analysis should be based on the new approach to social protection, that encompasses risk management approach that is aimed at enhancing human capital and defeating poverty in the longer term plans (Attanasio Gomez Heredia Vera-Hernandez, 2005, p. 5).For instance the social risk management strategy indicates that individuals, households and communities are exposed to double risks in their environment. Thus Poverty translates to greater vulnerability of the poor community, simply because poor people in the community or society usually are limited to access to instruments that are necessary for risk management (Behrman Sengupta, 2001, p. 213). In addition poor sect of society or community are of all time poorly prepared to cope with crises whenever they occur. For example the poor sect would handle a financial crisis usin g an informal method and approach like taking their children out of school and keeping them at home, which is insufficient approach to crisis management. This way of handling crises results to irreversible loss of human capital and perpetuated intergenerational poverty cycle that becomes serious and difficult to reduce (Cardoso Souza, 2003, p. 141). In this respect the social risk management model uses three functions that are vital for the public policies. This includes the prevention, mitigation and coping, which embraces the long term benefits and reduced consequences. Therefore, it ends up helping benefiting people living in structural poverty, people who are just above the poverty line and groups with special ask in the society. Therefore, the CCTs approach is rooted from the concept of social protection as human capital investment that holds that poverty is reproduced across human generations due to a lack of investment in human capital (Behrman Sengupta, 2001, p. 63). In th is respect CCTs approach is more effective than the traditional approach, since it incentivizes this human capital investment by attaching conditions to transfers to produce desired results to the community and world at large. The use of CCTs in education ensures that opportunity cost of education is reduced hence reinforces the income effect of the transfer in such a way that school attendance and child labour is not as a substitute to income effect. This is aided by death penalty regulations such as compulsory attendance of school by children with income substitution to erect its impact. In this case when the children spend much time in school they would not consume as much resources as they would consume when are at home.Hence in terms of conditional cash transfers it implies that, there will be a minimum transfer amount needed to produce incentives 0 to send children to school (Attanasio Gomez Heredia Vera-Hernandez, 2005, p. 56). Therefore, this ensures that the saved resources are put to development agendas that will enhance wealth creation and more investment realization. The program was created in the year 1997 by Mexican Federal Governments as a strategy to support hobnailed families in extreme poverty to alleviate from those poor conditions (Cardoso Souza, 2003, p. 39). just now the name changed to Oportunidades meaning Opportunities that was extended to urban populations by president Fox in the 2001. This program uses the conditional cash transfer concept within Latin America and its design marks a significant shift in social services provision in Mexico today. The guiding principles that the program uses to work are targeting, intersectorality, empowerment of women and shared responsibility. The program was created for the purpose of increasing the capabilities of families that live in extreme poverty by investing in human capital in Mexico (Attanasio Gomez Heredia Vera-Hernandez, 2005, p. 42).This goal has three main objectives which includes edu cation, health and nutrition. This is because the three component are dependent of severally other. For instance, education will enhance technological development in the health and food production sectors to handle diseases and agricultural areas respectively, while education can not continue and progress within the environment that is infested by diseases and poor health as a result of malnutrition. Both components, if they are not balanced, can result to poor productivity in the economy and society. In this connection, the following section shall look at these three components Educational component The payments that concerns educational expenses are do to families with children under the age of 18 who are enrolled in school between the first year of primary education and the third year of secondary school. But in order to create and initiate incentive for families to invest in human capital, payments are conditional to children attending school. In addition, if a child has a non- attendance rate of over 15 percent in one academic month without a valid reason, the family does not receive the assistance that concerns education.By doing so, the political relation ensures that great emphasis is laid to education and eliminates unnecessary laxity in the implementation process, by involving parent to monitor their children and educationalists to keep updated record which the government uses to portion out payments to parents hence, each stakeholder participates in the process (Calde Coady, 2004, p. 272) . The amount of money that is transferred are set basing on the additional income the children would be fetching to the family if the child would be working and not attending to school. The payment rises with an increase in the age of a child. However, this is schemed higher for girls at secondary level (ECLAC, 2002, p. 71) . This is to encourage a girl child education like many parts of the world today do. In addition to regulation of the payment, the pay is desi gned to be inflation concious that prevents falling of value. In general, the grant is dependant on the enrolment and school attendance. While, the grant covers both direct cost required like school fees, school supplies, transportation and the opportunity costs as a result of attending school in Mexico (Davis, 2003, p. 30).Health component In relation to the health component Oportunidades program invokes the provision of primary health direction to all members of the family, this to cultivate an enabling environment for the leaner to able attended to well. The health services are provided at clinics, dispensaries and health centrers which are operated and run by Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (Mexican Social Security Institute) and the Secretariat of Health (Davis, 2003, p. 128). These grants are targeted to newborn children of about 2-3 geezerhood of age (ECLAC, 2002, p. 129), hich may continue up to the time the children enrols in primary school level. In addition to the that, pregnant and lactating women are included in the program. This component consists of a cash transfer aimed at health care, nutrition education and food consumption that benefits mothers and children. The transfer is on the basis of compliance by participating household members with a pre-determined account of health centre visits and health and nutrition workshops which are attended, this ensures a full participation in the process and community unity (Gertle, 2000, p. 61). The childrens health care visits are linked to growth monitoring and vaccination protocols that needs to be observed by mothers. This ensures that, the health standards are maintained by citizen which forms a honorable nation. In addition to that, Health Care visits for pregnant and lactating women ensures appropriate prenatal, childbirth and puerperal care (Calde Coady, 2004, p. 76) through attending clinical check-ups once or twice per year in Mexico. This health component ensures that the societys well b eing is taken into account therefore, this will translate to good education involvement and participatory. Therefore health component indirectly or directly promotes and support education. Nutrition component The grant provided is directed towards providing money to improve food consumption and availability, peculiarly to children below age of 4 months to 2 years (Gertle, 2000, p. 232), weaned babies and breastfeeding mothers. This package is inclusive of children aged above the age of 2 years to 5 years who are at risk of malnutrition or those who are poorly nourished (ECLAC, 2002, p. 223) in the society. The condition to continue and get the grants is based upon ability to visit the health clinics regularly, in this way, the population continues to be updated on the health prevention and cure methods while the government gets the required statistics that are vital for planning and fighting infections to its citizens. It should be noted that the nutrition and health voucher as equiv alent to the value of the time invested by the mother during the trip and waiting at the health centre to to get health services (Calde Coady, 2004, p. 267). For instance, the statistics indicate that health grant per beneficiary per month was set at the same level as the education transfer of about US$9, which is twice the monthly expenditure per person on health care and medicine costs.
